Our Hop College Series is a string of West Coast DIPAs where we showcase one of our hand-selected hops. First debuted to Brewers in 2000, the newly named "Simcoe" hop was released to Brewers by Yakima Chief Ranches. Unfortunately, because it is a proprietary hop, we do not know the lineage of where this variety came from. That would be rad to know. Over time, it gained popularity for its strong grapefruit notes with hints of pine and dank. Our Simcoe version of Hop College showcases the 2020 harvest variety that was grown within the farms of Yakima Chief Hops in Yakima, Washington. After evaluating multiple lots from different farms, we selected hop flowers that had strong notes of mandarin oranges and undertones of pineapple and dank.
