§ 01 · The agreement

This is the deal

By creating an account or installing the Sipstr app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use Sipstr — and we'll happily delete any account you've already created. Email us and we'll handle it.

"Sipstr" means the Sipstr service, operated from Sweden by its sole developer. "You" means whoever's using the app. "Service" means the iOS app, the website, the Tap Rooms, and any other thing we ship under the Sipstr name.

§ 02 · Account

Your account

  • Age. Legal drinking age in your country — 21 in the US; 18 in Sweden and most of Europe.
  • One person, one account. No bots, no scrapers, no automation against the API.
  • Identity. Display name and avatar can be whatever you like; the email must be a real one you can receive a code at.
  • Security. Sign-in is a one-time code per login. Don't share the code, don't share your inbox.
§ 03 · Content

Your check-ins, your photos

You keep ownership of every check-in, rating, note, and photo you post. Nothing here transfers copyright to us.

You grant Sipstr a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and resize your content for the sole purpose of running the Service — rendering your cellar, displaying check-ins inside Tap Rooms you've joined, generating thumbnails, surfacing public ratings on a beer's detail page. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account; aggregated, anonymous statistics derived from public ratings persist.

If it's public — a rating that contributes to a beer's aggregate score, a name on your profile — assume the world can see it. If it's private — your personal check-in notes, a Tap Room message — only the people who already share that surface with you can.
§ 04 · Rules

Community rules

Sipstr is a beer log, not a forum. Most of these are common sense; we cite them when we have to remove someone.

  • No selling or soliciting. Rating and recommending beers is the whole point — selling isn't. Sipstr isn't a marketplace or an ad channel: don't use Tap Rooms, check-in notes, or your profile to sell or trade beer or goods, run drops, or market unrelated products and services. Breweries have a separate program — get in touch.
  • No bots or scraping. No automated access, scraping, crawling, or bulk data extraction against the app, website, or API. One person, one account.
  • No harassment. Targeted abuse, slurs, or threats — instant removal.
  • No fake check-ins for XP. Logging beers you didn't drink to grind levels skews community ratings; we roll back the XP and lock the account.
  • No promoting irresponsible drinking. Sipstr is for people who like beer, not for people who like getting wrecked. Glorifying binges or driving under the influence will get the post removed.
  • No copyright laundering. Don't upload other people's photos as your own.
  • No illegal content. The obvious one.
§ 05 · Enforcement

Abuse, bans, appeals

Report

Email hello [at] sipstr.app with the URL or username and a short note. An in-app report flow is on the roadmap.

Action

First offence: warning + content removed. Second: 7-day suspension. Third: permanent ban. Severe cases (threats, doxing, child safety) skip straight to permanent ban.

Appeal

Reply to the email we send when we take action. You'll hear back within 5 working days.

§ 06 · Pro & refunds

Sipstr Pro

After public launch, Sipstr Pro will be a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. There is no subscription. The purchase unlocks every Pro feature shipped today and every Pro feature shipped in the future, on any device signed into the same Apple ID.

Refunds. All Pro purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled through Apple's standard refund flow at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue an App Store refund directly.

Founding Pro. Testers who joined during early access receive Sipstr Pro free of charge, for life. We will not revoke it.

§ 07 · Warranties

"As-is", but in good faith

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted or bug-free. We do warrant that we'll fix things in good faith and email you if a real outage affects your data.

§ 08 · Liability

What we're on the hook for

To the maximum extent permitted by law: Sipstr's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is capped at the amount you paid Sipstr in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law — gross negligence, intentional harm, statutory consumer rights in the EU, etc.

§ 09 · Termination

Ending the deal

You. Settings → Delete account, anytime. Pro purchases are not refunded on deletion (App Store rules), but you can re-create the account on the same Apple ID and Pro will restore.

Us. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice when reasonable, immediately when not.

§ 10 · Disputes

Disputes & law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are heard in the courts of Sweden, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country sends them somewhere else.

§ 11 · Imprint

Imprint & contact
