Springfield Bon Bon Tsarry Night Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout

Tsarry Night is a Russian Imperial Stout that has been in our winter line up at SBC since 2014. Its black-as-night hue comes from the expert blend of roasted barley, chocolate malt, and dark crystal malt. We then generously aged this Stout in Bardstown Bourbon Barrels for 10 months allowing the Stout to pick up the beautiful complexities of the wood, bourbon, and oak. Next came the addition of espresso beans from our neighbors Classic Rock Coffee Downtown. We specifically selected their darkest roast, Back in Black, for subtle notes of brown sugar, caramel, and just a hint of lemon. We then added mounds of cocoa nibs along with Tahitian and Bourbon vanilla beans for decadent notes of rich chocolate paired with a velvety kiss of vanilla that perfectly accents the roasted depths of flavor from the espresso beans and stout.
