Imperial Love Buzz - Cherry Blossom Sour

A few months ago Strathcona hired a lovely Japanese woman named Fuka to work in their kitchen. Unbeknownst to them, her father was a highly regarded brewer at Beer Brain brewery in Kashiwa-shi, Chiba Japan. One thing lead to another and in February her father Hiro came for his first visit to Canada to collaborate with them, together they brewed this Imperial Sour Ale, with strawberry, plum and featuring his Japanese salted Cherry blossom and leaves. This rendition of Love Buzz is fruity, floral with a hint of salt that cuts through the 10% ABV. Many thanks to Fuka and Hiro, they enjoyed making this beer together and look forward to the next one. Interesting fact... the cherry trees that surround us today, started as a gift from the mayors of Kobe and Yokohama, honoring Japanese Canadians who fought in WW1. IBU: 8 Crafted in Vancouver, BC
