The Nest of Red Temptation kicks off our brand new Winter Affair Gossip 2026 collaboration series, starting with Austrian brewery Vogelsang – one of the guests at this year’s Zichovec Winter Affair festival. And how does our first beer together taste? Like a full-on fruity experience in the form of an ice cream sour – but this time with no animal ingredients whatsoever. Instead of traditional l actose, we used a vegan ice cream powder, bringing creamy sweetness while keeping the beer fully suitable for anyone avoiding dairy. The flavour base combines raspberries, blackberries and blackcurrants, supported by a light earthy note of beetroot. The whole profile is rounded out by the sweet, aromatic presence of tonka, adding depth and a subtle spiced finish. The result is a dessert-like beer – sweet, sour, fragrant, with a beautiful colour and smooth texture. It’s not a pastry sour, but i t hits the same pleasure zone: it delights the senses and lifts the mood. And finally, vegans can enjoy it too.
