This India Pale Ale is a dynamite representation of the style. It is full of malts to support the intense hoppiness, but still carries a medium body. As much as they avoid the use of the word smooth, since it can mean different things to different people…this double IPA defines the word. It is fair to say that hops are the star of this beer, however. Full of Cascade, Citra, Centennial, and Motoueka hops, the result is a bright and zesty bouquet full of citrus and floral notes. On the palate, though, the hops shine, with a clean and balanced combination of flavour and bitterness that builds as the drink goes on. Danger Pay is the result of varied iterations of Double IPA’s that Yukon Brewing has done over the years, bringing together that experience into a big, bold, and beautiful IPA.
